Hi! I have put together some face masks that I have done (with the exception of number 5) and that has worked so well for me and several other people. All the ingredients needed, most people already have in their house. If you don't, they are very inexpensive, unlike most masks you get in the stores that don't even work!
1. Egg Whites- Oily/Acne Prone Skin
Crack egg and separate whites into a bowl. You will not need the yolk for this, if you don't want to waste it, it is good for your hair. After your egg white is in the bowl, stir it vigorously for 3-5 minutes or until it is frothy. Then, just pat it on your face and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Trust me, you will know when its dry, it gets really tight! Once it is, rinse off with cold water and pat dry. What this does for your skin- The egg whites will unclog your pores and also tighten them. This mask is most effective for those with oily/acne prone skin. If you wear makeup, I recommend doing this about 45 minutes before just because it does tighten your pores and your makeup will appear much more natural! How does this work? Eggs have a lot of protein that are very good for your body and your skin. The egg whites will lock in important nutrients that heal blemishes and tightens pores to keep unwanted bacteria out. The eggs whites also have a way of clearing up redness, so your complexion will appear much more clear.
2. Olive Oil and Honey- Dry Skin/ Lack of Moisture
You will need to use 2 Tbs of honey, and 1 Tbs of Olive Oil. Mix it well in a bowl an drub it on your face. Rinse off. How does this work? Honey has both antioxidant and antibacterial properties that promote healing and hydration. Olive oil is also very hydrating and soothing for your skin.
3. Baby Powder- Combination Skin
Okay, I know this sounds crazy but baby powder is very great for oily skin, acne, rough patches and discoloration all at the same time ! Whenever I use baby powder, I immediately notice a difference in my skin. Any blemishes are much smaller , redness has faded and my skin is so smooth! All you wanna do is make a mixture of baby powder and water , and put it on your face. The only thing I don't recommend is doing this more than twice a week. Just because the powder may absorb oil that your face needs to heal.
4. Baking soda-Acne
This face mask is very, very effective for acne. You mix it into a paste just like you did for the baby powder. Also, if you do not have sensitive skin you can add a few drops of lemon juice. Baking soda also whitens, so this also great for those with redness, inflammation, dark spots, etc.
5. Greek Yogurt- Anti-Aging
This is the only mask that I have not used personally, but I have read that it is amazing for aging skin. Not only greek yogurt, but a lot of dairy products can have a good effect on aging skin. The article I read says that the zinc in the dairy has great anti-aging properties. If you don't buy dairy products you can also try grapeseed oil.
I hope these work for you as they do for me! Thanks for reading and come back Monday for a list of 20 beauty hacks! (aka tips)
